G-902Accessibility

Accessibility statement

We want everyone who visits nativeplans.design to be able to read it, navigate it and reach us. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What we do

The site is built with accessibility in mind from the start:

  • Semantic page structure with landmarks, one main heading per page and a skip-to-content link
  • Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator
  • Text and interface colors chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast
  • Descriptive alternative text for images and drawings
  • Form fields with visible labels, and errors that are announced to screen readers without clearing what you typed
  • No autoplaying sound, no pop-ups and no chat widget
  • Respect for your device's reduced-motion setting: the scrolling film on the homepage becomes still images with the same text, and the Forest Lawn build sequence becomes stills with captions

Known limitations

Some content is visual by nature. The Forest Lawn build sequence is a 3D animation, and plan sheets are images of technical drawings. We provide the same information as text: stage captions, a project summary with the main dimensions and data from the title block, and written descriptions of each sheet.

If something on the site doesn't work for you, we'd like to know so we can fix it.

How we test

Every page is checked with axe-core, an automated accessibility tool, at desktop and phone sizes. We also go through the menu and the Start a project form using only a keyboard, and check the site with the reduced-motion setting turned on.

Tell us about a problem

If you have trouble using any part of the site, or need information in a different format, contact the studio. Tell us the page and what happened, and we'll work with you to get you what you need.
